From my first meeting with Jeff Pate, I was impressed with the depth of his knowledge and wide range of experience in the classic car business. He carefully listens to each customer’s desires and makes sound recommendations that are tailored to their car and budget constraints. He is honest and realistic about every step of the restoration process, keeps the customer informed of the progress while encouraging them to visit and appreciate the craftsmanship demonstrated by his staff.
For my 1966 Thunderbird Convertible, the goal was to return the car to being a safe, reliable driver that was presentable, but not a trailer queen that had to stay locked up as a museum piece. Jeff went through the entire car and provided a list of the items that needed to be replaced for safety as well as certain upgrades for better drivability and comfort. We agreed on a program that was done in stages over eight months, beginning with all necessary mechanical restoration and completed with a four coat refinishing process that started from bare steel. He understood that I enjoyed hands on involvement with certain parts of the restoration and knew my limits in critical areas that I gladly turned over to Classic Cars. At every step of the way, my expectations have been exceeded – Jeff and his staff go the extra mile and take care of the details that matter. They are all proud of their work and treat the cars as they would their own. - Ray Spreen -

Perfection is an aspiration that exists in the mind and eye of the beholder.  Although achieving perfection may be somewhat elusive, committing  attention to detail and finding a balance between cost and the desired effect is required in order to achieve the demanding objectives of an automobile enthusiast like me.  A classic car is  like classic art.  The classic car, however, requires dedication to finding a balance between the classic’s esthetic beauty and its ability to perform mechanically.  A classic car requires someone with the talent and capability of Jeff Pate and Classic Cars of Houston to restore the beauty and mechanical ability that once defined the classic car, like my 1962 Thunderbird M-Code.  The M-Code is a rare and very powerful “bird” - and it requires the mechanical skill sets of the caliber found at Classic Cars of Houston.  Jeff Pate listens to his clients and understands how to restore a classic car to the standards established by his clients and within his clients’ defined budget. - Mike N.-
